After your journey to these biblical sites, you will never be the same!
Embark upon your journey with an overnight flight to Rome.
We arrive in Rome where we are met by our agent and begin our sightseeing tour. We will visit Tres Fontane Abbey, the traditional location where the Apostle Paul was martyred. Then we have a special visit to the Catacombs, where we explore tunnels and see the carvings on the walls from early Christians. Afterwards we make a special visit to St. Paul’s Church where Paul is likely buried. We conclude our day at the Mamertine Prison, where Paul was imprisoned and wrote 2 Timothy. We’ll also see the Roman Forum and St. Peter in Chains. Dinner and overnight are in Rome.
Time for some culture! After breakfast, we transfer to the train station for the one-hour-and twenty minute train ride to Florence. We then meet our city guide who takes us on a walking tour of Florence. We include a special visit to Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral and Academy of Fine Arts, also known as the Accademia. The Accademia has been home to Michelangelo’s David since 1873. We then return to the train station for our ride back to Rome for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, our first visit today is to the incredible Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel. It is one of the most splendid masterpieces in the history of art and is well known for Michelangelo's magnificent ceiling. Our next stop is the Basilica of St. Peter, the largest church in the world, which overlooks the enormous St. Peter’s Square, the traditional site where Peter was crucified upside-down. On our sightseeing tour of Rome, we'll marvel at the monuments of this great capital. We visit the Colosseum, where gladiators fought. We also visit the Piazza Venezia, dominated by the imposing monument to Vittorio Emanuel II. We will stop at Pantheon, then the Fontana di Trevi and follow tradition by tossing a coin into the fountain, promising to return to Rome. Dinner and overnight are in Rome.
We transfer to the Rome Airport for our flight to Thessaloniki (with a stopover in Athens).
Embark upon your journey with an overnight flight to Athens. Prepare yourself for a life-changing experience and get some rest on the flight.
We arrive in Athens mid-afternoon and are met by our representative and given the tickets for our flight to Thessaloniki (ancient Thessalonica). This is the city to which Paul wrote his magnificent epistles. Paul was preaching the Word of God here until he was rushed out of the city. We transfer to our hotel for check-in and dinner.
In the morning we start with the landmarks of Thessaloniki, such as the White Tower, the Walls of the Byzantine Acropolis, the Roman Arch of Galerius and the Rotonda. We visit two of the city’s oldest and most admired Christian churches, the Basilicas of St. Demetrius and St. Sophia. We then follow the route of the Via Egnatia and visit, like Paul and his companions, the area of Amphipolis, to see the famous funerary Lion of Amphipolis. Then we travel onto Philippi where we visit the Baptistery of Lydia near the river where Paul baptized her. Lydia was the first convert of Paul on European soil, followed by the jailer. Also, we visit the ruins of the Forum of Philippi, the Christian Basilicas, the “Prison of Paul” and the Theater. Then we drive to Kavala (Neapolis), Paul’s first step in bringing the Gospel to present day Europe. A picturesque port, we view the Byzantine Castle and the Roman Aqueduct. We return to Thessaloniki for dinner and overnight.
This morning we fly from Thessaloniki to Athens. Here we admire the architectural wonders of ancient Athens, as we explore the world-renowned Acropolis and see the Propylea, the Erechtheum, and the Parthenon. We will also visit the newly renovated Acropolis Museum. We visit Mars Hill, where Paul delivered his message on the “Unknown God.” Then we see the Agora, the ancient center of the economic and public life of the city. As our bus tour continues, we also see Constitution Square with the House of Parliament and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Temple of Zeus, the Old Olympic Stadium and the Neoclassical Buildings of Athens. Dinner and overnight are in Athens.
Let’s cruise! We sail this morning from Athens to the quaint isle of Mykonos, called the island of windmills. After disembarking, we'll have some free time to experience the waterfront lined with shops and cafes. We stroll the charming walkways through a maze of white-washed buildings before returning to the ship for dinner and evening activities. This evening we’ll enjoy some time together as a group in Bible study. Overnight aboard the ship.
In the morning we arrive in Kusadasi, Turkey. A short drive takes us to the amazing ruins of ancient Ephesus, where Paul spent three years during his ministry. The impressive remains of Ephesus include the Agora, the Theater, the Stadium, the Library of Celsus, the ruins of the Temple of Diana (one of the “Seven Wonders of the Ancient World”) and much more.
This afternoon, we sail for the island of Patmos, where we visit the Monastery of St. John, on one of the island’s highest points. We’ll also see the Grotto of the Apocalypse, where tradition locates John wrote the book of Revelation. Overnight aboard the ship.
In the morning, we arrive at Heraklion, on the island of Crete. We’ll take a short ride through the town of Heraklion and arrive at the Knossos excavations. Here, Sir Arthur Evan’s archaeological discoveries revealed a civilization dating back to 4000 B.C., when a great empire flourished on the island of Crete. Paul left Titus in Crete and gave instructions on appointing church leaders in the towns.
In the afternoon, we cruise to the isle of Santorini where we explore at our leisure what is often referred to as the most breathtaking of all the Greek islands. Overnight aboard the ship.
We disembark the cruise this morning in Piraeus. After disembarkation, we journey to ancient Corinth with a stop at the amazing Corinthian Canal.
Ancient Corinth is where Paul met Aquilla and Priscilla and spent a year and a half preaching the Word of God. We visit the Archaeological Museum, the Forum, the Temple, the famous Bema (where Paul stood before Gallio), and the breathtaking Acropolis.
Then we drive to Cenchreae, the little harbor from which Paul sailed back to Asia, thus ending his second missionary journey. Dinner and overnight are in Athens.
We will include a special visit to Delphi, this mountainous city which today is both an archaeological site and a modern town. For the ancient Greeks, Delphi was labeled the “omphalos” (navel) of the earth, and here the eternal flame burned in the Temple of Apollo. Delphi was the site of the Delphic oracle, the most important oracle in the classical Greek world. It was also here beginning in 586 B.C. that athletes from all over the Greek world competed in the Pythian Games, one of the precursors to the modern Olympics. On our way up to Delphi, we’ll have time to stop and enjoy the small scenic villages that cling to the mountainsides. Dinner and overnight are in Athens.
We transfer in the morning to Athens Airport for our return flight back to the U.S.A. We arrive home the same day.

Wayne and Cathy have helped lead many tours to numerous biblical sites in Israel, Jordan, Greece, Turkey, and Italy. They have been married twenty-eight years and have two grown daughters.
Wayne’s passion is to help connect the Bible and its lands to life, showing the practical application of God’s Word in lives that display God’s grace.
"As first-time visitors to the Holy Land, we truly appreciated Wayne’s teaching style that connected the historical and biblical references at each of the significant locations. His insights into Scripture gave us ‘food for thought’ and brought the Bible to life. It was an unforgettable journey! We are grateful to have shared it with Wayne and Cathy." —Bill and Bev Hanna, Oxford, Connecticut
"Our favorite moments included looking across the Jezreel Valley to Nazareth and Nain and Mt Tabor. I marvel at Wayne’s insight and knowledge. Talk about a man who can lift details off the pages of Scripture while standing on the sites! And Cathy was such a shepherd, caring for us with such love and grace. What a dynamic duo! We had often heard that a trip to Israel was life-changing. On our tour to the Holy Land, and through Wayne's solid, practical devotionals, the Scriptures became alive and real—right before my eyes. Life-changing indeed!"—Jim and Lillian Moneyhun, Greenwood, South Carolina
"My trip to Israel has endless memories, thanks to Wayne and Cathy. Wayne read from the Bible about each site and then added his own words about the events that took place there. Cathy was so good about answering endless questions and making sure everyone was doing okay." —Gail Livermore
"Our trip to Israel was a life-changing experience! Wayne’s teaching was clear, concise, and applicable. He helped us build the bridge between the Scriptures and the location we were visiting." —Don and Margaret Lacefield, Plano, Texas
"Wayne's teachings on our tour of the Holy Land were a highlight. Each devotional was rooted in the biblical history of the site we were visiting and as Wayne shared from a Scripture passage related to the site, history came alive.
Even though the biblical stories were usually very familiar to me, Wayne almost always brought out fresh perspectives that blessed and challenged me spiritually."—Linda Jones
"We had the great pleasure of going to Israel with a group from across the US and several countries. One of the most informative and enjoyable parts of the trip was the Bible teaching offered by Wayne Stiles at our tour stops. Wayne's impressive knowledge of the geography of Israel, in addition to his obvious love and understanding of the Old and New Testament stories associated with our stops, really brought the Bible to life. His warm and gentle spirit enhanced our journey."—Jerry and Vera Greene, Columbus, Ohio
"On my fourth tour of Israel, it was a blessing to be on the bus with Wayne and Cathy Stiles. Each day was exciting! Walking (or climbing) to the places Jesus walked, and hearing Wayne's teaching and reading relative scriptures was emotionally exhilarating. Wayne knows the land! It was not a vacation, but a trip that renewed me like nothing else . . . and left me with a hunger for more. I plan to go back again, and hope that Wayne and Cathy will be my bus leaders. Thanks, Wayne and Cathy!"—Peggy Allen, Weems, Virginia

"What privilege to travel with Cathy and Wayne Stiles through Israel! At every site Wayne used scripture to bring history to life in a clear, yet profound way. I hope one day to return with them." —Bonnie Campbell
"We were privileged to have had Dr. Wayne Stiles as our teacher during our Israel tour. Wayne’s insight and teaching about many of the sites was invaluable. He shared the scripture that was relevant for each site and “tied” it all together. Our local guide provided a lot of history and current events but Wayne made the Scripture come alive as we sat and walked where Jesus walked and preached. It all seamed so real and relevant. We would urge everyone to go to Israel and we could not recommend anyone any more highly than Wayne Stiles to lead you through the Promised Land."—David & Cheryl Ratcliff, Bulverde, Texas
"Experiencing the land of the Bible was a great blessing. But traveling with Wayne and Cathy Stiles was the icing on the cake. Wayne provided outstanding devotionals and connected the places, events, and history with the Scriptures, showing their relevance for our lives."—Wayne and Debbie Moore, La Porte, Indiana
"Wayne Stiles combines a passion for the land of Israel with a depth of biblical knowledge that inspires and informs. I have had the privilege of traveling to Israel on several occasions with Wayne, and I can tell you firsthand—what you will experience is much more than a casual "fly-over" view of the holy land. You won't simply learn ABOUT the land—you will EXPERIENCE the land, its history, and its people. If you long for more than head knowledge—if you want heart knowledge that will challenge you to follow in the footsteps of our Lord, then let Dr. Stiles guide you on this tour of a lifetime."—Dr. Reg Grant
